Cast Bios

Harry Standjofski (Playwright and director)

Harry is a Montreal-based theatre artist. His plays Anton and no cycle are published under the title Urban Myths by NuAge Editions. Other plays include jennydog, Holiday and Ceremony. He works extensively as an actor, in both official languages, across the country. He has been teaching theatre part-time at Concordia University since 1986. He is currently working on two new plays In the middle, in the rain and …3…4… and has recently received development funding from Telefilm to write a screenplay with Trevor Ferguson and Pan Bouyoucas about Fatherhood.

Stéphane Volet (Sound design)

Has designed and composed for Le Nouveau Théâtre Anglais’ first two shows Still Once and En chute (titre provisoire). His original compositions have been performed in Canada and abroad. At present Mr. Volet is working on a commission for an early Dutch Portuguese Baroque ensemble.

Eric Mongerson (Set and lights)

Eric has consulted for Scénoplus and Cirque du Soleil on equipment installation and theatrical problem solving. He has designed lighting for many productions across North America. At Concordia he has served as Technical Director, Theatre Manager, Production Coordinator, Design for the Theatre Coordinator and Chair of the Department from 1993 - 2002. He is on the boards of directors of both the Canadian Institute for Theatre Technology / L’Institut Canadien des Technologies Scénographiques (CITT / ICTS) and the Centre Québécois de L’Institut Canadien des Technologies Scénographiques (CQICTS).

Ève-line Leduc (Costumes)

Since studying scenography at Montreal’s Concordia University and costume design in Seattle at the University of Washington, Ève-line has worked together with many artists in theatre, cinema and T.V. including Mario Bouchard, Kate Bligh, Caroline Binet, Stéphane Zarov and most recently Michel Robidas. “ I love the stimulation that emerges from new ideas, and I love to collaborate with artists who don’t fear the challenge. My experience shows me that the best results grow from rich artistic collaborations, which push me to establish myself as a costume designer among a creative force.”

Christina Hidalgo (Stage Manager)

Chris has been a resident of Montreal for 8 years. SM Credits include: The Facts Behind the Helsinki Roccamatios, Barnacle Wood (Infinitheatre); Mambo Italiano, Blue/Orange, Vinci, Cripple of Inishmaan, Trick or Treat, Glenn, Picasso at the Lapin Agile (Centaur Theatre); Sunday Father (Saidye Bronfman Centre); and Measure for Measure, The Possibilities, Undiscovered Country, After the Dance (Bill Glassco's Montreal Young Company). She has worked on over one hundred productions with companies including the National Arts Centre, Theatre New Brunswick, Opera Lyra, Manitoba Theatre Centre, Great Canadian Theatre Company and the Stratford Festival.

Andreas Apergis

Andreas has collaborated with many Montréal companies including, Infinitheatre, Centaur Theatre, Projet Porte Parole and has contributed in the development of new plays by his involvement in workshops at Playwrights’ Workshop Montreal

Plays that Andreas has performed in of late include, Infinitheatre Barnacle Wood, Trevor Ferguson’s Long , Long , Short , Long, Goldoni’s La Veuve Rusee at the Rideau Vert , Jean Marc Dalpe’s Trick or Treat.

Jeanne Bowser

Jeanne graduated from Concordia University in 2002. Her ties with the school are still strong as she is now teaching Introduction to Acting. Since graduating, she has worked closely with Renegade on their award winning productions Three in the Back, Two in the Head (03) and JennyDog (04) also a Harry Standjofski world premiere. She has also enjoyed shooting two seasons of the incredibly silly YTV sitcom Fries with That?.

Susan Glover

Susan Glover is a native Montrealer who has been working as an actress for 23 years. She began her career doing improvisational theatre with companies such as Albert Nuremberg’s “Theatre Shmeatre”, “Acme Harpoon Co.” and La Ligue National d’Improvisation. She has since appeared in theatres across Canada including, Montreal’s Centaur Theatre, Ottawa’s Great Canadian Theatre Company and the National Arts Center, and Calgary’s Alberta Theatre Projects.

Her film credits are extensive and include Yves Simoneau’s Nuremberg and Jericho Mansions directed by Alberto Sciamma. On TV she can be seen regularly on YTV’s Radio Active and Showtime’s Naked Josh. Her voice is heard on many cartoons such as Arthur and What’s Up With Andy?

Cary Lawrence

Based in Montreal Cary has had the priviledge to work in both languages. Film credits include The Favorite Game, The Woods, Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle, and Stardom. For French TV she appeared in Alys Robi, Jasmine, Diva, and Soho. Cary had a recurring role in Tabou for TVA and previously in Space Cases for Nicolodeon. Other television credits include Deadly Encounter, Baby for Sale, Sherlock Holmes: The Whitechapel Vampire, Mary Cassatt: The Artist Specials, The Ghost Of Dickens Past, and The Hunger. Theatre: Cary was in the crtically acclaimed play La femme comme champ de bataille at Théâtre Prospero, most recently Cary was seen in Snowman for Imago and in Kingfisher Days at the Piggery Theatre. Cary is a graduate of Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris.

Holly O’Brien

Holly O'Brien has been lucky enough to be able to perform on stage as a cofounder of Mask On! Her most recent stage appearance was as Jane in Tsultrum8’s production of Jesus Hopped the Train at the Centaur Theatre. Her TV credits include: All Souls, University, Dice, Cia bella, Naked Josh, and various others. She has appeared in such films as Dead Awake, Obsessed, Kicked out Moving in, Evergone, Dudely, Sharkboy, and many others carried by cable networks in foreign countries. This summer she landed her first lead in a feature film The Woman of Aahhs. In the future she hopes never to work in the service industry again.
Bill Rowat

Bill Rowat is very pleased to be working with “Le Nouveau Theatre Anglais”. Bill has been involved in the Montreal theatre scene for some time and has performed across Canada the United States and in Europe. Some of his stage credits include Casa de Mary Margaret, Telegraph, Peter Pan, Teibele and Her Demon, The Mandrake & Hamlet. Film & Television credits include These Girls, The Human Stain, Abandon, Le Collectionneur, Mrs. Parker and the Round Table, Live Through This, Lance et Compte & The X-Files. Bill has had the fortune to work on interesting projects in the past and he feels this is another that he can proudly put on his resume.

Felicia Shulman

Dialogue: Peace is not some abstract concept far removed from our every day lives. It is a question of how each of us plants and cultivates the seeds of peace in the reality of our daily living, in the depths of our being, throughout our lives. I am certain that herein lies the most reliable path to lasting peace.

Geoffery Appelbaum

Most recently seen in Shaw’s How He Lied to Her Husband and Shakespeare In-the-Park’s Midsummer Night’s Dream. Geoffrey is happy to be among these talented performers. Past credits include Joel Miller’s The Viper’s Brood. Look for Geoffrey this March as he performs in his first original play Two Hands with cast member Emily Shelton, and this summer in a remount of Midsummer.

Nick Brazao

Nick is in his final year at Concordia University completing a double major in Psychology and Theatre. His past credits have included performance in Joel Miller’s Viper’s Brood and G.B. Shaw’s How He Lied to Her Husband.

Danny Coleman

Danny is in his fourth year of studying theatre at Concordia University. At Concordia, he performed as Hippolytus in The Viper's Brood, as Marcel in Masque of the Red Death, and as Orestes in Electra. At the Art Matters Festival he performed as James in The Sick Bed. With The Alternate Theatre he played Seth in The Language of Angels, and Danny in Without you I'm Nothing.

Jessica Kennedy

Jessica Kennedy, is in her third year studying theatre at Concordia University. She has been interested in acting since her early youth and has performed in many small productions throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, where she is from. Recent roles include Sandra Dee in Grease and Mrs. Dai Bread Two and Polly Garter in Dylan Thomas' Under Milkwood. She is very excited to be performing in this show, and has enjoyed collaborating with such talented individuals.

Jessica LaFrance

Born and raised in Ottawa, Jessica Anne Lafrance is finishing her final year in the Theatre program at Concordia University. Most recently she has performed as Redio in the Concordia production of Femi Osofisan’s play Esu and the Vagabond Minstrels directed by Diane Roberts. Her passion for theatre lies in unconventional and exciting new creations and she is thrilled to be a part of this show.

Emily Shelton

Emily is studying theatre at Concordia. She has performed for Repercussion Theatre and has toured with Robert Lepage’s La Trilogie des dragons. She is delighted and honoured to be working with such talented people.
